ELIANA ÁLVAREZ MARTINEZ, is a highly experienced filmmaker, producer, and cinematographer with over 20 years of experience in the industry. She has traveled extensively to document different cultures and communities, including filming coffee farmers in Indonesia and living with the Mundari people in South Sudan. One of her most notable projects is a film about the small community of Cabo Pulmo in Mexico, where fishermen stopped fishing and focused on environmental protection, resulting in a remarkable transformation of the area. Eliana has also worked on projects tackling global issues, such as illegal fisheries for salmon and the problem with bear populations in Russia. Her work with the BBC has taken her to remote and isolated communities to uncover unique stories and perspectives. Overall, Eliana is a gifted storyteller with a passion for making a positive impact in the world.
